A simpler way to postpone tasks

Tasks

Postpone has been redesigned and simplified. It now lets you move only the task due date — without changing the document’s due date or affecting the approval workflow. The change applies only to your own approval of the selected tasks.

Key capabilities

  • Adjust the Task due date for one or more tasks from a single, streamlined dialog.
  • See the Document due date and the current Task due date for context before choosing a new date.
  • Pick the new date with a single calendar date picker (defaults to the task’s current due date, or tomorrow, and can’t be set in the past).
  • Get an inline warning if the new date falls after the document due date — you can still apply it.
  • Get an inline error if a postpone fails, so you never lose the dialog.

How to postpone a task

  1. Select one or more tasks and choose Postpone.
  2. Review the Document due date and the current Task due date shown at the top.
  3. Choose a New task due date from the calendar.
  4. Click Postpone to apply.

What’s changed

  • Simplified to a single date picker. The previous Remind me section — with options for days before the document due date, days after the task due date, and a specific date — has been replaced by one clear New task due date calendar.
  • Comment field removed. A comment is no longer required to postpone.
  • More context up front. The dialog now shows both the document due date and the current task due date, so it is clear what you are changing and what you are not.
  • Inline feedback. Warnings (a date after the document due date) and errors (a failed postpone) now appear inside the dialog instead of in a separate window.
