How do I merge expenses in an expense claim?

What does it mean to merge expenses?

When you merge expenses, two or three expenses are combined into a single expense in the expense claim. This is useful when the same purchase has resulted in multiple entries – for example, a receipt you have uploaded and a credit card transaction for the same purchase.

Where do I merge expenses?

Directly in the expense claim’s detail view. Select the three dots on an expense and then Merge.

How many expenses can I merge at a time?

Two or three.

Can I merge multiple credit card expenses?

No. The selection can contain a maximum of one credit card expense. This means you can combine one credit card expense with one or two manual expenses, but not two credit card expenses with each other.

What happens if the expenses have different values?

If the fields date, amount, place of purchase, or VAT amount have different values, a dialog box will appear where you choose which value to keep in the merged expense. If the expenses have identical values, they are merged without you having to make any selections.

Can I undo a merge?

No. Once you have selected Merge, the merge cannot be undone. Therefore, make sure you have selected the correct expenses and the correct values before confirming.

Can I cancel along the way?

Yes. Up until you select Merge, you can cancel without anything being changed.
