# Roles
Understanding user roles and permissions.
User roles and permissions in the Visma Manager app determine which features and data you can access. These are typically configured by your system administrator in the backend Visma services (e.g., Visma.net Approval, Visma Payroll, Visma Employee Management).
### How Roles Affect App Usage
- **Feature Visibility**: You will only see tabs and menu items for the modules your roles grant you access to. For example, if you do not have an Approval role, the Approval section may not be visible.
### Integrations
> [!NOTE]
> Integrations available in the manager app depend on Visma services you have access to along with the relevant user roles.
