# Attributes (CS205000)

This topic provides information about the elements in this window in Visma Net, such as fields, field values, buttons, and check boxes.

You use this window to create new attributes or to view the details of existing
attributes.

An attribute is a quality or characteristic of the stock item,
project, case, lead, or other entity that gives your company more
information.
For example: Some attributes might be product brand, manufacturer, lead
age, gender, and industry.

For each attribute, you can specify what type of control should be used for it.

## The top part

You can use the elements in this area to create a new attribute, or to select an existing attribute and view its details.

<td class="vismanet-table__cell"><p>The type of control (element) to be used for the attribute. The
following options are available:</p>
<dl>
<dt>Text</dt>
<dd>The control will be a field in which the user can type text. For this type, you can specify an input validation option: an input mask or a regular expression.</dd>
<dt>Combo</dt>
<dd>The control will be a combo field, which is a text field with a list field attached, so users can type or select the attribute value. For this type, you can enter a list of possible values.</dd>
<dt>Multi select combo</dt>
<dd>The control will be a list field with a check box against each attribute value so users can select multiple options. For this type, you can enter a list of possible values.</dd>
<dt>Check box</dt>
<dd>The control will be a check box that can be selected or cleared to turn the option on or off.</dd>
<dt>Date/time</dt>
<dd>The control will be used to enter a date.</dd>

<td class="vismanet-table__cell">The number representing the order of the value in the resulting list of attribute values.</td>

<td class="vismanet-table__cell"><p>A check box that you select to make the value unavailable in any new documents that
use the selected attribute.</p>
<p>If a disabled value has been used previously in any records, it will still be available in those records, but you will not be able to use the value in any new records.</p>
