# Fixed asset transactions (FA301000)

> By using this window, you can create, view, edit, delete, and release fixed asset transactions.


This topic provides information about the elements in this window in Visma Net, such as fields, field values, buttons, and check boxes.

> [!NOTE]
> A transaction can be deleted only if it has not been released. Also, a system-generated transaction cannot be edited.

## Search line in list window

If you are in the list window, the first line in the table is a search line. Each column has a search field which you can click to search for or filter on specific values and narrow down the displayed table rows. You can search and filter in as many columns as you need to, to only display the results you want to view.

There are two types of search fields:

+ White: here you can type a specific search term to display results in this column containing this exact value. If you search on several (partial) words, you can separate them by a space or **%** and get different results:

  + space: the result contains the words in any order,
  + **%**: the result contains the words in the specific order, and the **%** functions as a wildcard as well.
+ Grey: you can click this to open the column filter pop-up window where you can filter the results for this column.

## The top part

In the top part of the window, you can enter information for a new transaction or select an existing one for release.

<td class="vismanet-table__cell">The date when the transaction document was created. By default, the current date is specified, but you can change it.</td>

<td class="vismanet-table__cell">The total amount for the transactions.</td>
</tr>

<td class="vismanet-table__cell">Status</td>
<td class="vismanet-table__cell"><p>A read-only info box that shows the status of the transaction
document:</p>

<dt>On hold</dt>
<dd>The document may be edited and may not be released.</dd>
<dt>Balanced</dt>
<dd>The debit and credit amounts of the transaction are equal.</dd>
<dt>Unposted</dt>
<dd>The document is ready to be posted. Unposted transactions cannot be modified or deleted.</dd>
<dt>Posted</dt>
<dd>Indicates that the transaction was posted and the appropriate general ledger account balances were updated. Posted transactions cannot be modified or deleted.</dd>

<td class="vismanet-table__cell"><p>Read-only. The way the transaction was entered into the system:</p>

<dd>This transaction records the acquisition of the fixed asset.</dd>
<dt>Depreciation</dt>
<dd>This transaction records the depreciation of the fixed asset.</dd>
<dt>Disposed</dt>
<dd>This transaction records the disposal of the fixed asset.</dd>
<dt>Transfer</dt>
<dd>This transaction occurs if the branch, custodian, or department of the fixed asset was changed.</dd>

<td class="vismanet-table__cell">Batch no.</td>
<td class="vismanet-table__cell">The batch, by its identifier, generated for the book that updates the General Ledger.</td>
</tr>

<td class="vismanet-table__cell">Transaction description</td>
<td class="vismanet-table__cell">The description of the transaction.</td>
</tr>

<tr class="vismanet-table__row">
<td class="vismanet-table__cell">Trans. period</td>
<td class="vismanet-table__cell"><p>The financial period in the book to which the transaction should be posted.
The first
two characters reflect the period number within the financial year,
and the last four digits indicate the financial year.</p>
<p>The period is calculated based on the document date; however, you can select another period from the list.</p>

<td class="vismanet-table__cell"><p>The statute-allowed benefit that is used to depreciate the asset, which is one of the
