By using this window, you can create new account classes and maintain the list of account classes in the system.
There is no specific logic associated with account classes; these user-defined classes are used as properties of general ledger accounts for convenient grouping, sorting, and filtering of information associated with general ledger accounts in reports and inquiries.
For example: Liability accounts can be divided into several classes, such as the following:
- Current liabilities, Supplier ledger
- Current liabilities, Wages payable
- Current liabilities, Interest payable
- Long-term liabilities, Bonds payable
- Long-term liabilities, Mortgage loan payable
