# Create an account class

> Go to the Account classes (GL202000) window. Click . In the Account class ID field, type a unique identifier for the account class. In the Description field, briefly describe the class. Click . You can later delete the account class only if no accounts have been associated with it.


1. Go to the [Account classes (GL202000)](https://docs.vismasoftware.no/visma-net-erp/help/general-ledger/general-ledger-windows/account-classes-gl202000/index.md) window.
1. Click ![icon-add](https://docs.vismasoftware.no/media/visma-net-erp/icon-add.png).
1. In the **Account class ID** field, type a unique identifier for the account class.
1. In the **Description** field, briefly describe the class.
1. Click ![icon-save](https://docs.vismasoftware.no/media/visma-net-erp/icon-save.png).

You can later delete the account class only if no accounts have been associated with it.
