General ledger accounts hold all financial data for your organisation.
About subaccount IDs
In the General ledger workspace, you can use either only accounts, or both accounts and subaccounts.

Deactivate a subaccount
A subaccount for an account that has transactions posted cannot be deleted; if such a subaccount is not used any more, you can deactivate it.
