# Change a stock item's Item ID

> In the Inventory workspace you can change the Item ID in the following way:


## Changing the Item ID

1. Go to the [Stock items (IN202500)](https://docs.vismasoftware.no/visma-net-erp/help/inventory/inventory-windows/stock-items-in202500/index.md) window.
1. In the **Item ID** field, select the item for which you want to change the ID.
1. After you have selected the item, click **Actions** and choose **Change ID**.
1. Specify the new ID for the item and click **OK**.
1. Click ![icon-save](https://docs.vismasoftware.no/media/visma-net-erp/icon-save.png).
