# Create non-stock items

> Note You define the requirements for the item in the Segment keys window. Note To change the item ID later, click the Actions button and select Change ID.
1. Go to the [Non-stock items (IN202000)](https://docs.vismasoftware.no/visma-net-erp/help/inventory/inventory-windows/non-stock-items-in202000/index.md) window.
1. Click .
1. Add a unique **Item ID** for the non-stock item. You can use both letters and numbers.

> You define the requirements for the item in the **Segment keys** window.

> To change the item ID later, click the **Actions** button and select **Change ID**.
1. In the **Item status** field, select the status of the item. The status **Active** indicates that you can use the item on transactions.
1. Complete the general information on the **General settings** tab.
The fields marked with \* are mandatory.
1. If necessary, fill in information on the other tabs.
1. Click .
