# Maintain default prices for stock items

> Go to the Stock items (IN202500) window. In the Item ID field, select the stock item whose default price you want to maintain. Go to the tab Price/cost information. In the Default price field, enter the default price for the stock item. Click . The price you have entered will be displayed as the base price of the stock item in the Sales prices (AR202000) and Supplier prices (AP202000) windows. 1. Go to the [Stock items (IN202500)](https://docs.vismasoftware.no/visma-net-erp/help/inventory/inventory-windows/stock-items-in202500/index.md) window.
1. In the **Item ID** field, select the stock item whose default price you want to maintain.
1. Go to the tab **Price/cost information**.
1. In the **Default price** field, enter the default price for the stock item.
1. Click ![icon-save](https://docs.vismasoftware.no/media/visma-net-erp/icon-save.png).

The price you have entered will be displayed as the base price of the stock item in the [Sales prices (AR202000)](https://docs.vismasoftware.no/visma-net-erp/help/customer-ledger/customer-ledger-windows/sales-prices-ar202000/index.md) and [Supplier prices (AP202000)](https://docs.vismasoftware.no/visma-net-erp/help/supplier-ledger/supplier-ledger-windows/supplier-prices-ap202000/index.md) windows. To open the window, select **Sales prices** or **Supplier prices** from the **Inquiries** drop-down list.
