# Move item classes within the hierarchy

> Go to the Item classes (IN201000) window. Click Actions in the window toolbar. Select Change ID. Click OK. Result: The item class ID changes, and the system rebuilds the item class hierarchy.


1. Go to the [Item classes (IN201000)](https://docs.vismasoftware.no/visma-net-erp/help/inventory/inventory-windows/item-classes-in201000/index.md) window.
1. Click **Actions** in the window toolbar.
1. Select **Change ID**.
1. Click **OK.**

**Result**: The item class ID changes, and the system rebuilds the item class hierarchy.
